Ahhhh, that is absolutely awesome! Thank you for sharing this video. Tony will always hold my upmost respect and can always count on me being more than a loyal fan. I can’t even put into words how amazing I think he is and just get chillbumps and a huge smile when I even hear his name mentioned. Thank you again!
Very nice video!
I hope one day he’ll try the 500 again. Maybe lose a few pounds.
why are there nascar videos on the indycars youtube page?
Winning the Allstate 400 will never be as important as winning the Indianapolis 500. Tony can pretend all he wants that he has “won at Indianapolis”, but that phrase really only matters in May, and deep down Tony must know that.
Indy will never be indy again like it WAS, until the engines are in front of the drivers again.
Course there’s more to it than that.
Do u want the cars to do only 160MPh or summin?
I wonder how Kimi Raikonen would react when he’s driving the indy
Todays technology would have these cars well above 160 before too long. most don’t realize what it really takes to get into an Indy ride these days. Yes, there are some real talented drivers out there, but not as many overall as there used to be. USAC drivers will try to get to Indy either in a stock car or Indy car. The competition is every bit as fierce in NASCAR when it comes to Indy as it was back in the old days. 225mph does not mean as much today.
Put a West Coast Supermodified out there, it’ll go faster than 160 given time to sort things out.
Lola makes races cars and Judd makes race car engines. Front-engine indy roadsters, while great, are gone. Panoz made a winning front-engined le mans prototype work well though.
You are a nice person, I apologize for my outburst.
I just beleive that the rear-engine deal at Indy has developed as far as it’s going to go.
Man, seeing that Menard Buick V6 makes me miss those days bad!
i promise you that tony being tony…….he would give up EVERYTHING in his trophy case to have won the indianapolis 500. not the 400, not the f1 face…THE 500. it must feel so hollow to him to have taken the checkers there and have it mean nothing to him. i feel sorry for him…….he shouldn’t have jumped but he did. we’ll take him back though…..watch him fail and then cast him off like he did to us.
Looks to me like Stewart is doing just fine in NASCAR
he’s too old and to heavy to go to indy car now. i guess he HAS to be fine doesn’t he?
I agree…to a point. I’m sure his Brickyard 400 wins DO mean a lot to him. He won races at Indy. But he didn’t win THE race. I agree that he would probably give up the other trophies to have his face on the Borg Warner, but I never thought his Brickyard wins were “hollow”…
The Brickyard 400 has been a big race since it was started in 1994 — but it’s big because of where it’s run. And Indy is big because of the 500.
Amen to that!
<3 tony
The Brickyard 400 may not have a century worth of history, but I would hardly put it down below the Indy 500. In it’s brief history, legendary names like Earnhardt and Gordon have won it. Anyway, Tony’s still got one order of business left in Nascar, a Daytona 500 win.
I would agree that the 500 would mean more to him than the 400. But, correct me if I’m wrong. Didn’t your buddy Mr. Penske do the same thing when he decided to go the other way during the cart/irl split because they had more races? Then he came back to continue his tradition of buying his way to more indy 500 rings, beginning in 2001 with a convict.
who would the convict be? if you mean castroneves……..he was aquitted, on all counts. preparation equals success. at the end of the day if the driver isn’t good enough or the team makes a mistake you won’t win at indianapols. penske is the best. period. bar none. you must be of the mind that champcar was a better product before they folded. too bad about that.
I like Tony Stewart,my favorite driver…NASCAR RULES
@Roland9628 No Tony Stewart rules not Nascar. Boogety boogety lets go racin what a trashy way to cover autoracing. I do like Nascar but the tv coverage is hick like ! The Indy 500 is still and always will be the best.
